Thoughts on Kiddos~

I was thinking about the kids today and various things we may want to think about… when you are all unpacked and settled from your Utah trip, let me know what you think.

1)    Diapers, formula and food for Ginny—Do these take up a lot of room—like a whole suitcase worth? I don’t know how much you will need to pack. One option is ordering these items and having them shipped to the resort for when we get there. For example, if we order from Amazon, it would be free shipping, and checking luggage is $15 a bag. That being said, we could also order from gardengrocer.com and order a few things. They are in the Orlando area. POST EDIT: Since you mentioned using G diapers, this may be less of an issue since the inserts are smaller than actual diapers. 


2)    I am thinking about making a sign for Ginny’s stroller and/or designating it in some other way. In a sea of strollers, we want to be able to identify it quickly. Do you have any ideas?


3)    Have you thought about rain? Evan and I brought umbrellas with us last time. I wouldn’t mind getting some “nice” ponchos for this trip though, ones that we can re-use for the wet rides and in the case of rain. I have actually heard that the Disney ponchos are nice and durable and a “good price”. I was thinking about checking out a sporting goods store. If we buy them at Disney we may have a hard time spotting each other in crowds, LOL! Another thing to think about is rain with Ginny—do you have a rain cover for your stroller? What do you think about that idea for her?
  
4)    What is Ginny’s schedule? Does she have one, or is she pretty laid back? I know that she can nap in the stroller, but I am just curious as to what to expect with her. Does she eat with you, between our meals… ? I really don’t know the day to day life with a baby and want to be prepared! =) Just so you know, I confirmed that POFQ has refrigerators in all the rooms. If we needed to heat water/bottles/food, we can always use the baby care stations in the parks.

5)     How does Hayden feel about pirates and looking like a pirate? If he likes pirates and would like to look like a pirate (complete with teeth, sword, bandanna, earring) let me know! There is a special place where they train pirates called the “Pirates League”! 

So I went crazy~

Okay, so when I went to Joann's to get supplies for Chloe's dress I got some iron on transfer paper. They had a few clearance appliques for 50 cents and I couldn't resist. So I am making more shirts than I said... but they don't have to wear them in FL if they don't want to.They can just be around the house shirts.

Ginny's are on top-- a Belle applique and an iron-on that says "yo ho ho and a bottle of milk"! LOL! I thought it was a really cute twist on the Pirates theme song. 

Hayden's are a bouncing Tigger and "pirate in training". I thought that the tigger one would be good for the day we are meeting Tigger and riding the Winnie the Pooh ride. I heard that Tigger really gets a kick out of people wearing shirts with him on it.

I was planning on putting that near the side bottom of the shirt, just for something different and because Tigger may skew a bit younger I think-- and putting it on the bottom side makes it a bit cooler, I think. I was thinking about making one of the mailings from Tigger! =)

Here are the other ideas as a refresher. I thought that the "here we come" could be worn on the plane ride there.

Ginny (I got 12 months since I figured that bigger is better than smaller)?
Purple: Pirate
Pink: Belle
White: Minnie
Yellow: "here we come"

Hayden (I got extra small in the boys section since the toddler shirts had pockets)
Gray: Pirate
Red: "here we come"!
Green: Star Wars
Blue: Tigger

Let me know if you or Hayden completely hate these ideas, and I can use some of these for our Disneyland Trip.

The Verdict

Mini- easy peasy princess- pay someone else $10 to make it! It is very difficult to find cream colored grosgrain ribbon in the right size... way too much labor for just a simple bow. I'm sure I could refine the process if I really tried, but I just don't want to put that much effort and that many finger burns in to trying!

Are these the cutest hair clips ever?

I think they are. Are there any that Ginny loves or ones that would look especially awesome with outfits and corresponding headbands she will be sporting on the trip? 

I also found an awesome Star Wars thing that I can iron onto a T-shirt. Maybe Hayden will get picked for Jedi Training Academy if he wears an awesome t-shirt! (We need to get up front, get there early, jump up and down like an idiot and possibly make a clever sign to draw attention to ourselves). We can do either "Jedi" or 'Sith". However, I did request the name "Hayden", so we may get a personalized one by Sept.

I also found a great idea for a countdown chain for your family! Here is a picture of someone else's. I am thinking about sending and paying for the file to be printed at a Staples in Missoula and you can pick up the "links" and make your chain? There are 86 days until we go, so I was thinking about having 84 links (4 links come on a page). Thoughts? 

Other possible files that I found for iron-ons for Hayden t-shirts and Ginny onesies...
